Ibm s Competitive Strategy For International Business Essay

IBM stands for International Business Machines Corporation which is the biggest multinational information technology and business solutions corporation in the world.IBM was established in 20 centuries in Unites States by Thomas Watson, and it was related to information technology industry. The company have about 300 thousand employees. Nowadays, IBM providing diversity services such as retail, electronic and software. The IBM environment can be divided into two sectors including internal environment which contains the object,management and resources. The another one is external environment such as PESTAL and SWOT. IBM company uses these factors to promote their value and marketing share. In this essay, it will be argued the Porter’s genetic competitive strategy and the later development and the analysis of IBM’s strategic position. Finally, it will explain the links between theory and practice of IBM. Porter’s generic competitive strategies have three sections i ncluding cost-leadership, differentiation and focus and his book was published in 1980(Porter,1980).
